In times of war, having a safe home has become a vital need for many Ukrainian families. With widespread destruction and uninhabitable housing, the urgency for rehabilitation is greater than ever.
This is why FM Foundation took action by funding the renovation of a two-storey house for SOS Children’s Villages. Thanks to a €10,000 donation, the house has been completely repainted, fitted with new flooring, and equipped with safe electrical installations. Now fully restored, it stands ready to welcome a family, offering them a true place to rebuild their lives.
But the effort didn’t stop there. Five FM Logistic employees also rolled up their sleeves to clean the house after the renovation, highlighting the personal involvement of FM team members in this meaningful project.
Beyond home renovation, FM Foundation wanted to provide tangible support to children affected by the energy crisis in Ukraine. For Christmas, 171 children from our partner SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine received rechargeable lamps, allowing them to study and play even during power cuts.
This essential donation ensures access to light without relying on an unstable energy supply. 100% rechargeable, these lamps provide a precious sense of security and stability for families.
“Larisa, a single mother from the city of Brovary, who is raising her young daughter on her own and taking care of her adult brother, who was injured as a result of the fighting in the Donetsk region and was discharged from military service. Turning to the “Strengthening the Family” center was a very important step for her, because she was in an exhausted psychological state. After the birth of her long-awaited child, the woman faced postpartum depression, and later – emotional burnout due to the lack of support and constant conflicts at home. Raising her daughter became more and more difficult, the mother felt confused, tired and lacked the strength to fight on her own. Larisa came to the psychologist in a depressed emotional state of frustration and disorientation. It was difficult for her to combine the function of a mother and taking care of her brother. She also had a lot of destructive experiences in the past, which affected the building of relationships with her daughter. During the work, new strategies for interacting with the child were developed, we talked and rebuilt the boundaries of both Larisa herself and her daughter. We also worked on building a future position, personal processes in general. We ended the work with the fact that now there are internal supports and structures on which you can rely and move forward, both in everyday interaction and in the implementation of healthy relationships in the future. Also, a significant resource in working with Larisa was the opportunity to become part of a mutual support group. This became a real source of inspiration and understanding for her. Communicating with people who face similar challenges gave her strength and confidence that she was not the only one experiencing certain problems and feelings. Thanks to the help received, the woman received not only emotional support, but also specific tools to overcome difficulties in the future.”
Through these initiatives, FM Foundation demonstrates that solidarity is built through concrete action. Renovating a home, bringing light—small gestures that go beyond material aid to restore dignity and hope to Ukrainian families.
Together, let’s keep building a brighter future!
