Jean-Christophe Machet, Chairman of the FM Foundation, took advantage of his business trip to India to visit the school centre developed with local NGO Work For Equality.

FM Foundation has teamed up with Work For Equality for a first year of cooperation. The project involves funding a school for teenagers from disadvantaged families in Talegaon, Pune. For this first year of partnership, 42 teenagers aged between 15 and 17 were selected for their motivation. They had been forced to drop out of school during the COVID period. Thanks to this centre, they can complete their schooling in order to improve their professional future and develop their network. Course timetables are adapted to their tasks within their communities. The school year started in April 2023. At the end of the course, which will finish in December, they will sit a national certification exam equivalent to the French baccalauréat.
During his business trip to India, Jean-Christophe Machet visited the study centre. He interacted with the teenagers during an unfiltered question-and-answer session. He was accompanied by Ajit Jangle, Managing Director of FM India, and Mayank Garg, HR Director for India and local representative of the FM Foundation. This is not the first time that Mr Machet has visited FM Foundation projects; last year he had already visited the Logistics School hosted on FM Logistic platforms in Brazil.
