It has already been a year since the Foundation began working alongside three NGOs: the Spanish Red Cross, Inimi Noi in Romania and Lok Seva Sangam in India, to jointly develop sustainable solidarity projects. Over the past twelve months, thanks to the dedication of our local teams, we have joined forces to boost employability, support vulnerable children and promote empowerment through work. A look back at a first year of human engagement, sharing and impact at the heart of our communities.
Spain: Boosting employability at the heart of local communities
In Spain, the partnership with the Xirivella Red Cross has become central to efforts to promote employability and provide social support. This collaboration has taken the form of an integration programme aimed at helping people in need to secure stable and decent employment, through work placements, exchanges with FM Logistic teams and site visits.
Beyond integration, this partnership is a journey of human connection and solidarity. The teams shared a memorable moment by accompanying families and their children to the Oceanogràfic in Valencia. Solidarity was also demonstrated through significant practical initiatives in collaboration with our clients, notably the donation of ten pallets of food and hygiene products. This initiative was complemented by our traditional charity walk, which, for the third consecutive year, mobilised the community to collect fresh food for the charity.
The figures from this first year reflect the scale of our commitment, with 402 beneficiaries supported and 27 employees involved.
Romania: Infrastructure projects and support for education
In Romania, the partnership with Inimi Noi supports a charity dedicated to child protection and the inclusion of vulnerable families. Together, they have organised a series of charitable initiatives throughout the year to mark Easter, International Children’s Day and Christmas.
The highlight of this commitment was the organisation of a summer camp in the mountains, offering 61 children their very first holiday, featuring workshops on self-reliance and evening activities. These efforts, driven by 19 staff members who contributed a total of 138 hours of work, also resulted in the renovation of the centre’s facilities, including the creation of a counselling room and the complete refurbishment of the garden and playground.
The adventure continues: local teams will soon be taking part in future creative workshops and social events to strengthen the bonds between the children and the community.
India: Career support and return to education
In India, our partner Lok Seva Sangam is an NGO whose mission is to promote access to healthcare, education and the empowerment of the most vulnerable communities. This first year of collaboration has focused on sharing expertise and fostering economic independence for the benefit of 51 beneficiaries.
To overcome the family and social barriers faced by local women and change attitudes towards employment, 18 staff membersfrom the Bhiwandi site got involved. By sharing their own daily experiences, the female staff members demonstrated in practical terms how work promotes their independence. To take this integration initiative a step further, the Indian teams opened their doors for tours of the logistics site and ran a skills-transfer workshop. The aim was to train the NGO’s social workers in professional tools so that they, in turn, could pass on these keys to integration to the whole community.
